Final Week Of August 2018

This is the last week for the month of August 2018.  Only 4 more months left until 2019.  Fall is in about 3 weeks, but the temperatures around much of the United States are still in the mid to upper 80’s for most.  Halloween is only two months away and the horror movies are starting to roll out more than any other time of the year.  The anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks is also coming up.  As always, here are some new releases to be reviewed.

DJ Hektik is first up on the list and is back with another release that contains hip hop and r&b tracks.  He drops “The Final Episode” in the “Dabbin and Grindin” mixtapes.  Volume 10 plays you music by Sage The Gemini, Trippie Redd, NBA YoungBoy, Kevin Gates, Partners n Crime, Playboy Carti, 03 Greedo, Saweetie, T-Pain, K Camp, Chance The Rapper, Rich The Kid, G-Eazy, Bryson Tiller, Lil Skies, 50 Cent, Uncle Murda, 6ix9ine, and more on the finale release of this series.

Next, 3rdy Baby is back on the scene with another release of all the latest new songs to hit the airwaves.  He brings out part 6 of the “Margiela Music” collection.  This title contains a playlist of music by artists such as Loudpack Loski, Soulja Boy, Gucci Mane, Flexin Of Shoreline Mafia, Cap 1, Don Q, Quavo, Lil Durk, Future, Doe Boy, Young Thug, G Herbo, Chief Keef, Juice WRLD, Rich Brian, Playboy Carti, Lil Baby, Cizzle Money Addict, Peewee Longway, Key Glock, and other rap emcees.

Third, on the list of mixtapes to be reviewed in this blog post, comes a release by DJ Cinemax and DJ Suspence.  The two collaborate on #30 of the “Rappin Like I’m Trappin” roster.  Artists making the cut for this project include Reese LaFlare, Young Thug, Kur, Lil Durk, Yung Dub D, Ski Mask The Slump God, Famous Dex, Money Bag P, Kush, Sauce Walka, XXXTentacion, BBG BabyJoe, Lil Uzi Vert, Young Dolph, Kodak Black, Juelz Santana, and a whole squad of other emcees on this 51-track playlist.

Fourth, is a release that contains a track listing with the main featured lyricists being A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Remy Ma, Don Q, and Fat Joe.  This title is a release from one of the favorites on the site, Mr. Crack, and is titled “Bronx’s Finest”.  His mixtapes are some of the best you will find.  Guest appearances with the headliners on this drop include Nipsey Hu$$le, Dave East, Rick Ross, Big Sean, French Montana, Plies, Dre, Chris Brown, Lil Kim, Tee Grizzley, and Tory Lanez.

The final product to be reviewed is by DJ Ike Love.  He drops a release that is a compilation of the best rappers in the game spittin bars titled “Killer Freestyles”.  Look for lyrics by Remy Ma, Ripp Flamez, Drake, Papoose, Young M.A., Juicy J, Rocky Banks, Kendrick Lamar, Jay Rock, Pusha T, Cassidy, Phor, Styles P, Vado, Juelz Santana, Tyga, J. Cole, Elzhi, Kxxg Crooked, Jae Millz, Sheek Louch, and so much more.  Look for more mixtapes on this site soon to come from this guy.

The NFL preseason is about to come to a close this Thursday as all 32 teams have their final dress rehearsal games on August 30th.  The official start of the regular season is September 6th.  The opener begins with the Atlanta Falcons facing off against the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles.

 

 

Le$, Remy Ma, Shawty Lo Release Official Projects

Remy Ma was sentenced to 8 years in prison for shooting her friend, Makeda Barnes-Joseph, back in 2008 and was released in August 2014 after serving 6 years.  Her first official mixtape release is titled “I’m Around”.  She gives a 12-track effort on this project and the only featured artist is her husband, Papoose.  There are a diversity of producers on this release which include Certifyd, Ron Browz, Jaiden Gilbert, Ted Smooth, Ron Browz, and others.

Shawty Lo has not put out any music in a while and the former member of D4L drops his official project titled “King Of Bankhead” hosted by DJ Scream of Hood Rich Ent. and DJ Swamp Izzo.  Is anyone else wondering if T.I. will have something bad to say about the title since he is also from Bankhead, Georgia?  On the cover, Shawty Lo is also holding a chain with the initials B.H.F.  In case you were wondering, this stands for “Bankhead Forever”.  Other artists featured on this release include Rick Ross, Lil Boosie, Stuntman, Young Scooter, Rich Homie Quan, Plies, and Chief Keef.

One of the best DJs in the game who consistently drops mixtapes full of hit music is DJ White Owl.  He’s back with the 240th edition of his long running “White Owl Drop That” series.  This guy is on #240, so you can tell he has been around for a while.  There are many tracks that you would want to check out on this project.  A few of the titles are “2. Jadakiss, Styles P, and Sheek Louch-All We Know”, “12. Nas-The Season”, “14. Cam’Ron ft Hell Rell-Wonderland” and, “20. Fabolous-Danger Remix” are just a few to name.  The whole mixtape is hot, so be sure to definitely listen to this one.

Le$ of the popular Jetlife Recordings label gives you another official release titled “Steak X Shrimp Vol. 1” hosted by DJ Mr. Rogers.  Le$ is originally from Louisiana, but now stays in Texas.  Other features with the rapper include Texas natives Paul Wall and Slim Thug, label mates Mr Marcelo and Curren$y, Ronnie Spencer, and Aston Matthews.  Producing the beats are June James, Cardo, Ric and Thadeus, Block Beattaz, Stunt N Dozier, and a few others.

Volume 3 of the mixtape series “R&B On Demand Radio” is out now.  This title contains 20-tracks and plays some of the best r&b music out now.  Artists to look for on this release such as Trey Songz and Chris Brown, who are planning on touring together, Usher, Tinashe, Jasmine V, Mary J Blige, Jamie Foxx, August Alsina, and many more.  As always on most r&b tracks, there are also rappers on this release.  A few to mention are Future, 2 Chainz, A$AP Rocky, Rick Ross, and many more.

A$AP Money Gang and DJ Suspence bring to you the 19th installment from the “In The Trap” franchise.  This is a southern-themed release with music from Big K.R.I.T., Migos, Rich The Kid, Project Pat, Lil Wayne, Young Thug, Ace Hood, Gucci Mane, Young Thug, and many more on this 32-track release.
