This is the final week for the 2016 NFL Preseason football schedule.  The past few weeks gave the rookies a chance to shine and show people what they have in store for the upcoming season.  When the first stringers were out on the field, did your favorite team perform like you would have liked them to or do you think they need to take the next two weeks before the regular season and tighten up their playing skills?  We are back again and ready to bring all of our fans another review of the newest and greatest in r&b and hip hop mixtapes.

It appears to be another month of the 2016 year is coming to an end.  There are only 4 months left and the year comes to a close.  What does the fourth quarter have in store for you?  We have some new music in this review that you should check out when you have time during your daily activities now that the summer break is over.

First, on the list of new mixtapes is a drop by J. Armz.  This DJ releases another edition in the collection labeled “Hot 97 The Real” with all the latest hit records.  Number 6 plays you tracks by artists such as Rick Ross, Skrillex, Era Istrefi, Kid Ink, Verse Simmonds, Young Thug, Future, The Game, Jeremih, Charly Black, Meek Mill, 2 Chainz, DJ Esco, Fetty Wap, Ayo Jay, Carnage, Ty Dolla $ign, Fabolous, and other popular acts in the recording industry.

Next, DJ Ben Frank brings the 5th installment to your block of the series called “Only For The Plugs” with Joe Blow being the host on this volume.  These mixtapes contain some of the hottest rappers on the come up right now with number five packing a 31 song playlist.  Other emcees making the cut for this product include Migos, Gucci Mane, Shad Da God, Dae Dae, Peewee Longway, Rico Richie, Young M.A., French Montana, K. Camp, Dstrap, Genius, Felipe, Juicy Badazz, Young Optu, Yung Booke, Sosamann, Young Sizzle, and other hip hop lyricists.

One of the game’s top blend DJs, Ty Boogie, returns to the scene with part 9 of the “Blend Sessions” franchise.  You will find a mix of hip hop and r&b lyrics mixed over various instrumentals on these mixtapes.  This drop is packed with a 42-track playlist with records by Rihanna, T.I., Zoey Dollaz, Justin Bieber, Beyonce, Fabolous, Nicki Minaj, Chinx, Jay-Z, J. Cole, Omarion, Troy Ave, Fat Joe, Remy Ma, Kodak Black, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Swizz Beats, and more of today’s top grossing acts.  This DJ also had two other releases this week, another one is coming up in this review post.

DJ Creative Mind is back at the end of the month with another drop in the “The Hit List” collection.  The “August Edition” brings you a 48 song playlist of the best music released in the past 4 weeks on mixtapes.  Check out appearances on this product from Frank Ocean, Rae Sremmurd, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Tory Lanez, Wyclef Jean, Jeezy, Young Scooter, itsADOLLA, Duke, Travi$ Scott, Beanie Sigel, Jadakiss, Styles P, G. Herbo, 21 Savage, MadeinTYO, and others.

Finally, as stated earlier, we have another review from DJ Ty Boogie.  Part 2 of the “Press Play” series contains a mix of hip hop, r&b, and a few blends are thrown in there.  The man who made this drop is on the cover along with Remy Ma and Fabolous.  Other artists on this release include Ayo Jay, Charly Black, Chris Brown, Jeremih, August Alsina, Kent Jones, Lil Wayne, Pitbull, Blac Youngsta, Rich Homie Quan, Yo Gotti, D.R.A.M., Lil Yachty, Desiigner, and many more on this 33-track drop.  Use the site’s search engine to bring up all of Ty Boogie’s mixtapes.

In the previous blog post, we mentioned that French Montana’s retail album “Mac & Cheese 4” aka “MC4” was pushed back because he was waiting on a few sample clearances.  After that, it appears that was not the truth as music executive L.A. Reid said the delay was because French Montana did not have enough hype for the album to drop at the time.  Well, pushing back album release dates is sure to start some kind of hype, so that definitely helped out.  Did he really need to build up any hype and if that strategy gave more attention to it, how much?  We will just have to wait until October to see if it paid off.

Mixtapes August 2016

The Labor Day holiday weekend is less than two weeks away and to some that would be a signal to the end of summer.  Depending on which part of the country you live in, the warm temperatures should still be around.  Those of you that are planning a celebration with a barbecue, party, or family get together, we have some free mp3 downloads for our premium members to keep the guests entertained.

First, on the list of reviews for this blog post is the 3rd edition of the “The Breakfast Club Countdown” presented by The Empire.  These guys have some of the nicer artwork when they drop their mixtapes.  Music artists making the cut for this installment include Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz, Young Thug, Travi$ Scott, Desiigner, Anderson Paak, Maino, T.I., Nas, DJ Khaled, Quavo, Pusha T, Yo Gotti, Joey Bada$$, Lil Uzi Vert, ScHoolboy Q, Kanye West, and others on this playlist.

Next, all the way across the pond in the United Kingdom is DJ Triple Exe with volume 114 of “The Passion Of R&B” Collection.  The cover tagline “All Natural Movement” seems to be a tribute to when women had natural hair.  We see no problem with females wearing wigs, extensions, weaves, etc. and that opinion is coming from the guys.  Many of this DJ’s recent r&b and hip hop mixtapes showcase artwork with a throwback to the 90’s era.  Check out records on the “Black Is Beautiful” edition from Kent Jones, Pitbull, Jermaine Dupri, The Dream, Pilot Jones, Trina, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Chris Brown, Dreezy, Wale, Nicole Wray, Goldlink, Shakka, Zayn, J Shin, Latocha Scott, Danya Back, Tinahe, and other industry recording musicians.

The third product to be reviewed comes from DJ S.R. with part 5 of the “Street Matrimoney” music sessions.  French Montana made the cover of this drop, although the rap artist did push back the date for the upcoming retail album release of “Mac & Cheese 4” to October 14th.  The Coke Boy is heavy in the game with 20 official mixtapes since 2002.   It would seem as though the album was set to be released on August 14th, but had to be pushed back to clear a few samples.  Department store Target sold a few copies on August 19th before pulling it from shelves.  The copies that were sold is what led to the internet leak.  DJ S.R.’s product contains a few tracks from French Montana’s new album with other records by Rich The Kid, Migos, Blac Youngsta, Trae G, Zaytoven, Gucci Mane, GGoodMoneyatl, Lite Fortunato, Wyclef Jean, The Weeknd, Chance The Rapper, Sy Ari Da Kid, 2 Chainz, TYuS, and other hip hop lyricists on this 29 song drop.  In anticipation of MC4, check out the video French did with Kanye West and Nas:

Finally, DJ HyDef is new on the site, so you will find a few of his recent mixtapes he released, with the most recent being “New World Records”.  Kevin Gates is at the center of the cover artwork with Lil Uzi Vert on the left and we are not exactly sure who the person is on the right, possibly Johnny Cinco?  This release plays you 20 new songs by Dave East, Kur, Villz, Pusha T, Troy Ave, Freeway, Biz, Wale, Curren$y, Wiz Khalifa, KhrXs, Dice Soho, Cool Amerika, King Marz, IamSu, Lil Gabe, and others.

The month of August 2K16 is almost over.  Hopefully everyone found some way to enjoy the summer break.  Football season has begun and for some that means the homecoming dance is right around the corner.

The 2016 Rio Olympics that were broadcast to the world from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil have come to a close.  The United States took home first place with a total of 121 medals, which is almost double the amount that 2nd place Great Britain received with a total of 67.  It’s safe to say the U.S.A. pretty much dominated all the other countries in the Summer Olympic Games.  The same could probably also be said about the hip hop and r&b music scene.  Users of the site should have noticed by now that we only carry the best mixtapes and this review points out just a few of those to check out.

The Empire brings the streets part 36 in the “Hot 107.9” collection.  This release brings you a playlist with the hottest music currently in rotation.  Since the radio station is based in Atlanta, GA, this drop has a southern feel to it with tracks on here by artists such as Gucci Mane, YFN Lucci, Dae Dae, Future, Young Thug, Lil Yachty, Mike Will Made-It, Bryson Tiller, Wale, Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz, Migos, Trouble, and others from the south.  One thing to remember about this series of mixtapes, although they contain mainly dirty south acts, you will also notice some records on these drops by other performers from different regions and genres of the industry.

Up next, DJ Seanblaze releases the 2nd installment of the r&b series labeled “One Night Stand”.  This one is hosted by Cam Dolla and presented by Trak Hunta DJs.  This release may be meant for fans of slow jams, but there are also rap artists on this drop.  Look for tracks by G. Herbo, Master P, Lloyd, Dreezy, T-Pain, Post Malone, 21 Savage, Kodak Black, Pretty Ricky, S-8ighty, Lucci, Jaquees, Pleasure P, Ty Lindsey, Jeremih, Rayven Justice, and others.  Be on the lookout for more of this DJ’s mixtapes on the site in the future.

One of the best out of the U.K., DJ Triple Exe, returns to the game with the “Dead Presidents” edition of the long running franchise titled “Street Kings”.  Number 59 showcases a 32 song track listing with lyrics from Jay-Z, Ty Dolla $ign, 2 Pac, Fat Joe, Jim Jones, Young M.A., Ace Hood, Rick Ross, Kodak Black, Red Cafe, Cardi B, E-40, YG, Joe Moses, Fetty Wap, Macklemore, Rich Chigga, and a gang of other emcees.  If you’re looking for a fast way to browse all of this DJ’s products, use the suggested feature to browse all of his hip hop, r&b, and reggae mixtapes.

DJs Dyce, Cannon Banyon, and Effect give their audience the 4th volume of the collection labeled “For The Love Of R&B”.  This drop plays you tunes by musicians such as Teyana Taylor, Tinashe, Wash, Trey Songz, Jeremih, Fetty Wap, Wale, Rihanna, Usher, Post Malone, Wizkid, Chris Brown, Tory Lanez, Janet Jackson, T-Pain, and a few other popular acts.  You can always find exactly what you are looking for from these three DJs by using the site’s search engine here.

The 2016 presidential election is only a few months away.  DJ Murph and GuyATL show their patriotism with another installment of the “Campaign Strong” mixtapes.  SQ Lac hosts #7 of the series with other tracks coming from Cool Amerika, Rich The Kid, Skippa Da Flippa, Lil Durk, Blac Youngsta, 21 Savage, Johnny Cinco, Quavo, Young Dolph, Gucci Mane, Travi$ Scott, Young Thug, 2 Chainz, and other southern lyrical acts.

The mobile version of the site works perfect on whatever smart phone, tablet pc, or iPad that you choose to use.  Just load up the mobile browser on any of those devices and type in our website address.  Those of you that feel the need for an app, we do have an app coming soon that will allow for access to the official releases on the site.  We will let you know when that app is available for download on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

That’s it for this blog post reviewing some of the best new releases currently out.  We have an app coming soon that is almost finished, so be on the look out for that.  The app will allow users that have an Apple mobile device to download easier since that company has so many restrictions on their products.  Hopefully in the future, people will realize not to buy Apple as that company makes it so their products are compatible with them and only them.  PC is open and allows you to freely do what you want without any type of restrictions.
